Hi Ryan

Just got back to a computer here after a few weeks and wanted to offer my condolences.

Take care,

Chris

Sorry for your loss. Elders have a special place in our hearts. I always do good by them.

Thanks guys. My Grandma always wanted me to continue trapping and hunting so I sure plan to follow that advice.

Got a bunch of new gear to play with. Green circle is what I got from a small business grant I applied for. Red I bought for Myself and yellow was given to me from a good friend of mine.

I’ve got some beavers and fish ready to go too.

Got a new headlight too after I lost my other one.

So short claws in the fall time. Last minute decision to check the mountains paid off. Not the biggest bear but good to see one out and it did me some good to be out there on the solo trip. Lucky to get a trip in before the ferries shut down for freeze up. Lucky to spot the bear in really bad weather. Lucky it was a male. Nice when things work out. The old 270 BDL never let me down once again.

55 traps got chains and swivels now. Ran out of chain for the last 8. Got to send those to my friend the welder next. Making more trap boxes, getting more fish and beavers, and anything else that needs to be done will be done over the next couple weeks. Probably set couple beavers houses up on Friday if I dont plan any bigger trips. I have more than enough gear ready to get started though. Once I set some trapping gear out I’ll have room in my warehouses to get other stuff done. Got to get the bear skull and paws out first then I can freeze it to complete later on during the long cold winter. Good to be busy all the time.

Skinned it in a blizzard

Little wood stove heat and a good brushing took care of the mess

That's a pile of wolf traps, hope you have a great season! Did the griz fall in a good place to trap wolves? They make good bait.

That bear did buff out well, Ryan. I cannot imagine skinning one in a blizzard. Sour smelling Brown Bear meat is my absolute favorite bait in a wolverine cubby.

Splitting the ears last night and came across a buck shot. He was aggressive when I got up to him and had no fear of me and my skidoo at all. Good bear to remove from the population in an area that gets a lot of human activity.

One trip down the Dempster pulling a trailer with the f150 was enough for me. Back into a 1 ton

I butchered and hauled it all home. Wolves do really love bear meat and so do the wolverine. So now I have a bear, 14 beavers and 17 coney to get started

Last cup of coffee then I’m off to the trapline for some prep and scouting. Just waiting on bobby to finish hockey to see if he’s coming along. Should have some pictures this evening

I have 5-7 inches of snow, and it's just freezing up on small water here on the Canadian border.....no walking ice yet.
