I like to use it for a cover scent while deer hunting. I've had some for about 4 years. Still as potent as ever. Just ask my wife.

I have some that's a year old, I'm gonna add it to some bait I made...fingers crossed! I also have some deer scraps that have been laying outside in a closed bucket all year, what do I do with that?

I use it as a cover scent. It's done the job for me in the past.

I had bad luck adding it to bait, I had a lot of critters rolling in the set.

If you find a good lure they like to roll on you can always put it up high.

x2, I have some in GLASS bottles with PLASTIC lids that are DECADES old and are as stinky as ever! METAL lids will corrode out in a few years.

I have some bulk essence stored from many years ago when I was catching lots of skunks and getting some from a friend. You have to work hard to keep it from evaporating whatever method you use to store it. That vapor is like Houdini, it will find a way to escape from a jar or bottle and consequently loose some volume in that process.

Perhaps it’s the quality of the lid? I have a cardboard gasket on the jar I have and the lid is still sound. I don’t exactly know how old, maybe 10 years?
