Its 11am. We haven't seen anything today. I've maybe heard six shots and one of those was before shooting time by half an hour.

I may have to switch out my guns tonight for something with more luck.

I am headed back to stand that I love to hunt but HATE to get a deer out of. I am going to cheat and take something light back there. The pre-64 model 70's and 721 Magnums get heavy after a while.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I swapped out for my savage model 11. It's considerably lighter than the 788s I've been lugging around.

OK, I caved and lugged that 721 magnum back there. A 5 hour sit yielded NOTHING. I saw 2 grouse and a turkey for the day. It has been MANY years that I didn't see a buck of some sort (or multiples) on opening weekend but I have never been skunked and not seen a single deer until this year. Maybe Covid got them? Maybe all the illegals ate them?

I have nothing clever to put here.

Will you teach me? You seem to be an expert at it. In real hunting we have to get dressed and can't stay in Mommy's basement all day. Does she have your "outfit" for tomorrow laid out for you ?

You're 1_2 weeks to late for hunting scrapes.
Those small scrapes your seeing now only means a buck Was there.
False hope for a return visit.

Agreed. Bucks My daughter went up to Sams for Ridges birthday on Friday. Showed me the pics of Ridge and the 577. Awesome!!! Came home and she shot a nice 8 pointer Sat. morning.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Haven't seen a anything even worth talking about. I checked the cameras last night and a few this morning. No pictures in 5 days. Not even night pictures. I'm really glad we got the rain last night. Deer camp is a mud pit.

Just as I finish my last post the heater shut off, so I had to change the tank. This day has to get better at some point.
