Great fish. What technique were you using if you don't mind sharing?

Trolling shallow 4-5' rattling suspending jerkbaits at 1.5 mph. Lucky craft pointer 128 and 158 in aurora black is always hot.

You won't catch them on husky jerks, which are very similar. No idea why, it almost always has to be a pointer. Often slight twitches or slow very small pulls or stops trigger the hit.

Trolling over mid lake humps and especially the windward edge of drop offs. Sometimes windward sides of islands, but more often the edge of humps, or on top.

Sometimes they are in 12 fow, sometimes 5. Sometimes weed, sometimes rock, sometimes both.

If you cast you will catch nothing. Tried it lots. Nadda. Something about Trolling slow.

What they want is shockingly specific sometimes. Some nights they want white lures. I've found that if there's a lot of light in the sky, visible moon perhaps they like the silvery aurora black. If it's overcast or moon is down white can be better

The best nights are full moon with cloud cover.

Oddly, I've done terribly when it's clear with a full moon. Not always, but a couple times

These. Now keep in mind they are the holy grail HERE.

Maybe not elsewhere. They are $29.99 Canadian, so not cheap.

And the finish is only so so. About 100 walleye and half the finish is gone and the trebles have only two hooks left lol

The hooks are cheap, but super sharp and hold really well. I just buy more cheap Chinese hooks and replace them. They are sticky sharp and the thin wire seems to make em penetrate great.

Great fish Hutchy
Trolling wakes up the fish.
