Recently acquired 110 long springs and caught my hand in the slippery little sucker. Gosh it hurt so much more than a coilspring!!! And I was in a panic trying to get it out. Makes me wonder if they are less humane. Maybe I should just use them in drowning sets.

"Less humane"? "110 longspring"?
Do we know this person?
Sorry if I'm wrong, but seems fishy.....

Well I’m certainly not a regular to the forum like you fine folks. Just a wet behind the ears trapper with no mentor. City dweller at that. So much for the support of the trapping community! Sheesh

330s scare me too tough guy. I’d rather make a drowning set with a cinder block and a foothold than fiddle with a big body grip. I wasn’t expecting so much hate from such a tiny post

It's not hate. There is no such thing as a 110 long spring so they are leery about your post.

Get a mentor, NOW, if you're legit. Join your state association and attend their events. Ask questions.

The fact that there is no such thing as a "110 longspring" is a red flag. The fact that 110 bodygrippers, or any other bodygripper for that matter, are not used on drowning rigs is another red flag. The word humane is likewise problematic.

And if you're legit then accept our apologies. We are particularly sensitive those those who may wish us harm through subterfuge.

You all are rather insensitive.

elsmasho82, your post made statements and you got comments.

If you had asked questions you would have likely gotten answers.

And getting pinched is all part of the learning curve to not do that in the future, and the occasional refresher course.

Better get used to a bit of pain and disappointment, if you want to be a trapper.

The lessons that hurt the most, are remembered the longest....

I thought it was called 110 because it had Two long springs and not just one,,,what am I thinkin? My mistake..
Sorry for portraying something I am clearly not. While I have very little experience, I have defended trapping for many years and I do belong to state association and FTA.
Started out with taxidermy before even touching a trap. Just wanted to try and catch my own specimens.

Cut the guy some slack.

Els-immerse yourself and read/watch books, good YouTube channels and certain Tman member's posts (mostly found on Strictly Trapping).

Thank you! Maybe I’ll bust out some Tom Miranda stuff today, he is encouraging!
