My wife got her ballot in the mail, so she has voted.
I guess if mine doesn't show up in mail, I'll clip the one out of the magazine. And vote that way. If you get the magazine, that is the only ballot you will get. The mailed ballots are only sent to members who do not get the magazine. Ok thanks, we voted and sent out today.
Let me sugar coat this

I believe that a director would have to make a motion for it or maybe someone from the ec did.? any directors out there? that know or got the minutes? A director had the idea and made the motion. It was discussed for quite some time. Some changes were made to his original motion. All directors had the opportunity to send it to the membership by voting yes or no. It passed on to send to the membership to vote on this. I don’t know which Director made the motion. It is also not listed in the board meeting summary.

Yooper, so if the majority of the directors had voted no it would have been killed and not gone to a membership vote?

So, If the director in your area attended the 2023 meetings, you should talk to them to see if their thoughts align with your organizations thoughts. These meetings are where much of the rubber meets the road. I highly recommend attending these meetings!!! Of course, per the bylaws, not everything has to go through the directors. Some things only need the Executive Counsel. All of the directors are listed in the American Trapper. Send them an email, snail mail or phone call! Have a conversation with them! Let them know your thoughts! Let them give you their thoughts!
All of this is quite new to me. Because of the turmoil that started within in the last year, I’ve made phone calls to several people that are involved with the NTA. I’ve talked to John, Roy, Directors, former Directors, etc. It has been very educational.

They threw my director off the ethic's committee then threw him out of the NTA.
I was a director for 8 or so years so im well aware of how the machinery works. A room full of director's voted to approve this goofy move go to the membership though tells me I probably know more about what's going on with NTA than they do plus doesn't give me warm feelings on their decision making. Probably an easy bunch to manipulate.

Yotetrapper I don’t know who the director was because I don’t know many of the directors. How would I have any idea if it was their idea? I was only passing along the info I know. I haven’t read into any of it all. Quite honestly, I would hope his motion was discussed with several others before he ultimately decided to make the motion. Could it have came from someone else? Of course. Could be his idea from the start? Of course. Is there really any way to know? Why am I now being questioned because I was trying to pass along what I witnessed? Interesting Maybe I misunderstood your original post? It looked to me as if you said: A director had the idea and made the motion. It was discussed for quite some time. Some changes were made to his original motion.
Maybe I somehow misunderstood that and you meant to say that you had no idea if a director had an original idea and made a motion? It sounded as if you were saying you did know for a fact that it was their idea from the above mentioned post. Yotetrapper How would I have any idea if it was their idea? I would hope his motion was discussed with several others before he ultimately decided to make the motion. Well, I would hope it would have been too but it's more likely it wasn't. And that's why I made that post...trying to figure out how you would have any idea if it was their idea.... since you stated matter-of-factly that it WAS their idea. As to why you're being questioned, it is because your original post made no sense. You said that a director had an idea, made a motion, and it was passed by the board. But then said you didn't know who the director was. Now you're saying you have no idea if it was their idea and that you hope it was discussed, which is the opposite of what you posted before. I questioned you for clarification. Which you have now provided. So thanks. That's all.
