Yotetrapper I don’t know who the director was because I don’t know many of the directors. How would I have any idea if it was their idea? I was only passing along the info I know. I haven’t read into any of it all. Quite honestly, I would hope his motion was discussed with several others before he ultimately decided to make the motion. Could it have came from someone else? Of course. Could be his idea from the start? Of course. Is there really any way to know? Why am I now being questioned because I was trying to pass along what I witnessed? Interesting Maybe I misunderstood your original post? It looked to me as if you said: A director had the idea and made the motion. It was discussed for quite some time. Some changes were made to his original motion.
Maybe I somehow misunderstood that and you meant to say that you had no idea if a director had an original idea and made a motion? It sounded as if you were saying you did know for a fact that it was their idea from the above mentioned post. Yotetrapper How would I have any idea if it was their idea? I would hope his motion was discussed with several others before he ultimately decided to make the motion. Well, I would hope it would have been too but it's more likely it wasn't. And that's why I made that post...trying to figure out how you would have any idea if it was their idea.... since you stated matter-of-factly that it WAS their idea. As to why you're being questioned, it is because your original post made no sense. You said that a director had an idea, made a motion, and it was passed by the board. But then said you didn't know who the director was. Now you're saying you have no idea if it was their idea and that you hope it was discussed, which is the opposite of what you posted before. I questioned you for clarification. Which you have now provided. So thanks. That's all. Doesn't anyone take minutes from the BOD meetings? No record of what the motion was, who made it, who seconded the motion, changes to the original motion and the results of the vote: yahs, nays, abstains, no votes???? But mysteriously, a motion develops to change the bylaws is being brought before the membership?

Scott, Yes, there is a Board meeting summary only at this time. It can be requested from the NTA office. Unfortunately, it’s just a summary only and unfortunately does not include who made the motion. My understanding is the official Minutes won’t be available until a later date, probably at the next national convention meeting. Thank you for the reply Yooper1978, but further questions (and I recognize you may not be the person to answer them) ... Who has the responsibility for taking the meeting minutes and who then creates the summary. And why does it take 5 months to put a vote before the general membership on an issue as important as bylaw changes with no prior communication on the issue, not even a mention on the cover of the American Trapper to direct attention to the ballot buried within its bowels.

Message's won't do any good Roy, past all that now. Since they were able to shut you up during an election, toss members out for exposing their crap and now this, why change the way anything is done? Basically they can do anything. I doubt they have to worry about anyone new breaking their neck to run for President anymore.

That’s how I took it anyway.

Could someone explain what is being voted on? Sure NE Wildlife, a significant change to the bylaws for the criteria (an add on) for holding the office of president in the NTA was proposed at the Board of Directors meeting in July and is now being presented to the general membership to vote on. The proposed change adds the requirement that any individual running for president must have held a previous position on the NTA Executive Council. Early estimates are of the estimated 9000 NTA members, less that 15? current (active and inactive) members would be eligible to run for the office (of NTA president) if the resolution were to pass.
