I have one of them, 28" smooth barrel/w modified choke. 2 3/4".....I bought it in" 78", and shot a ton of ducks with it.

With the entire tent camp and a load of gear I had to leave 15 hanging in this bag on a tree when I ran out of room in the sled.

What I picked up after leaving the bag.
[Linked Image]
Got all the way to the tent site and had to set this 10x12. Big bear tracks in the yard and I considered travelling back to the truck but I just set up and stayed on guard. Less than ideal tracking conditions so I left the bear alone.

One load of flooring. I hauled two more loads and finished the whole floor. I adjusted the ropes to take those creases out of the walls too

Great start to your trapping season Ryan , darn nice camp too I'm sure Bobby wants to be out there with you .

Very nice shotgun too if it's a Remington 1100 I'd suggest getting some extra O rings just in case if they still use them .

Awful haul Ryan. Tent pretty well like we use w stove in front. Fire in, bank some snow around the outside bottom edges, maybe some poles laid on the inside edges and couple of caribou skins over the brush and good night sleep tight.

Wolf's dug my traps out, when they came to 330s they just walked up and looked in. No commit. Set some snares where they went up into the bush. Lots of rabbit tracks maybe why they not hungry.

If your traps were boiled you would’ve brought wolves home. If they’re digging them up then they easily know where the traps are.

First trap of the check. I knew one would show up eventually. Had another bigger one snap a trap about 20 miles further out.

After everything was done and we got back to my truck we somehow locked ourselves out. My door code was written on my iPhone which was dead. My work phone has Ford pass but needed an update to open the door. I was already cold to begin with. Only option was to drive skidoo to town. Luckily there was about a foot of fresh snow. Everything was going good until I came around a corner and seen 2 black and 3 grey wolves running down the highway. I put my gun in the back seat of my truck before it locked. I tried taking a run at a black wolf but he jumped out of the way at the last minute. If I had a gun I could’ve got all 5. But with all the fresh snow they didn’t want to get off the road. Cool to see (and smell) them but what a heartbreaker for a wolf hunter.

heartbreaker for sure. I usually carry a charger. I also usually carry my phones in a warmer pocket so they dont die. for some reason i didnt memorize the door code on my truck. Stupid situation for sure. What i wouldve gave for a 22 mag or 223 with a full load of ammo. shoot, i wouldve taken any gun at that point in time

With these new electronic door locks a lot of times you can take the radio antenna off and pry the door out enough to slide it down between the door and the cab and press the door unlock button with it. A lot of these new rigs relock the doors after a certain amount of time if you don't put the key in the ignition. Stupid design in my opinion, I have one that does it and locked me out a year or so ago when I threw the keys in the front seat after unlocking it and then closed the door because a dog was trying to get in the cab. I've unlocked a couple other peoples with antennas also because they had them relock with their keys in the cab. I very seldom lock my rigs anyways, and my others have manual locks if I do, but I usually have a spare key taped on them somewhere.

I had wolves howling while I was checking/setting traps the other day, but all I had with me was a 22 pistol, so I didn't even try and get within sight of them. I know how you feel there.

That door locking a pain. Years ago now started putting a spare key under truck in magnetic box. Those electronic keys a pain too and expensive. Key under truck is a plain key which will manually open the door only. Inside truck, if that is not where ur lost electronic keys are, is another electronic key. Keep the cheap manual key under truck, in case lost* somehow also, and xtra electronic key inside truck. Of course most times lost keys are locked in truck anyway and even if you do not have a spare electronic key in your truck you are least inside it and it might be cold but you are out of the elements.

Cell phone is in pocket all the time in a cheap/thin zip loc bag. Helps keep it waterproofed. Have found phone will "touch" operate thru the thin zip loc but not through the thicker ones. This way you do not have to take out of zip loc to use and then have to reseal after usage. Works for me anyway. I had a Ford Escape one time and had door code on that phone but found using it to open door (instead of electronic key to open) most times caused me to memorize it and so did not depend on phone to access door code number.

Have a Nissan now and no key pad opener but still have manual key under truck in magnetic box and spare electronic key inside truck. Only got to use it once to pay off lol.

Sincere sympathy on wolves Ryan - bummer.

* Have not lost any

Always get a 3rd key cut with the other two so the codes are on all. Otherwise it is 650$ to re-code new keys.
My Ranger the car radio antenae opens the door through a hole , check it out ytube
