Just sharing what I made. I made two of these. Nothing special really, same as a lot of them you see, with one exception. I don't like walking up to a cage trap with a skunk in it so I added a long-distance release release option. Video here;

trap looks good
may have trouble with critters wading the rope up
ive had coons drag anything and everything inside cage traps

Certainly possible, not too worried about anything dragging it inside until they're caught though. Thought about covering the length up with dirt, thought about tying the end to a stake/tree/sagebrush/etc., thought about deer tripping on it, all kinds of scenarios. Gonna give it a shot and see what happens!
