I think I am getting lazy as I get older. I broke down and bought an electric meat grinder. I have had an old hand crank one for as long as I can remember and even had to make a set of blades for the thing as the ones it came with flat wore out. made a sausage stuffy thing for it as well somewhere along the way. I think it was one of my first CNC lathe projects way back in the day. They has one of those electric things At Midway on their cyber monday deals and I went and bought one. I only process a couple of deer per year and do some fish cakes and little stuff like that now and then. Don't know what came over me, buying that electricity gadget instead of going on with my hand crank one. I put it down to getting lazy I think. Christmas came early for me ..... and I also got some 308 caliber 130 grain Barnes TSX to try out in the 30-06 to get the work in for said meat grinder.

I got started with the little meat grinder on the kitchen air mixer did about 3 deer a year with that got old
stepped up to a #12 3/4hp about 2005 never looked back , when you do a few cows it really becomes nice.
it's ok to make it less painful as you get older and everything hurts all on it's own.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have never regretted buying my electric grinder. I use it more than I ever thought I would. I think your old joints will appreciate it!

If nothing else it may give me an excuse to travel south to get a hog or two some place. The place I used to hunt them in SC got sold to a developer, so I can't hunt there anymore. Have to do a bit of research to find a place in Georgia and SC. That would give that grinder a workout lol

I'm not old...but am lazy. A guy once told me that I should work like I'm an old man when I was young so it would take me longer to become one! I used to get after it, but building my house several years ago just took all of the will right outta me! Go figure.

Those hand cranked grinders are great!, as long as someone else is spinning the handle!!!! Just like crank ice cream makers. Now my boys are big enough to help. I wonder if they will agree I'd I tell them I will crank it the first 20 min and they can do 10 min each one the finishing of i lol Scuba. We have a lem #8 I bought at least 10 years ago and I can't kill it believe me I have been trying so I can justify buying a larger one befor we start raising hogs and cows. ] I would never go with out even a cheaper one like I have ever again. Saw the same model at the rual king this year for $ 100. Can't remember what I paid for it but probably around that or less on sale. It's done the grinning on 10 deer this year so far.
