A four bore muzzleloader, plenty of black powder, and a bunch of lead. ![grin grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif) as our forefathers found a 45-46 cal used a lot less lead and powder and made very usable holes especially when rifled VS the 11 gauge the Brits were using

Alchemy; turning lead into gold. I think the way that works is you find the guy with gold and put lead in him to take his gold the process has issues and consequences but fairly well known formula been used for centuries.

Is being physically fit a skill? Not sure but being physically fit and being financially stable are two of the most overlooked preps.

That makes more sense than anything I could have thought of! Nothing wrong with a good cowboy like yourself, Hoss ... there are folks who like their privacy , is all . Line Jumper is correct, too, good lessons learned in being choosy. Suffice to say, there is no such term as "toxic masculinity" , in my book. Here is a visual hint of my choice ... so no worries ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/12/full-20139-198479-full_20139_175667_277520456_1219754085497048_1982673700214890829_n.jpeg)

My dad and 3 uncles all served in Vietnam and so did my ex FIL. Every soldier I know holds a chopper pilot or 2 up on a pedestal but the 2 or 3 chopper pilots I've met hold their door gunners up on a an even higher level.
I'm guessing they'd agree with your choice- those guys saved as many lives as vaccinations did. Honor, integrity, and eagle eye, and the ability to train a pound of lead every 6 or 8 seconds on a precise area- what's not to like?

Is being physically fit a skill? Very much so. Also a habit but I have gotten out of the habit of working out 6 days a week running over 2 miles at least once a week. Once in shape you feel better have more energy and do much more. Add in som boxing or other martial arts in the mix . It takes skill and knowledge to know how to stay in shape effectively in the least amount of time. Also knowledge of nutrition protein intake and carbs. Doing so is very difficult when traveling for work working 16hr days and 96 hr weeks. But I do that inorder to eliminate and reduce my bills so that in a year or less I could pay them on a part time low pay grocery store job if I needed to on 15k a year instead of more than 6 figures. Sure is a big piece of mind knowing you can go a year with no income comming in and with each step in the plan the bills are going down and saving up and that makes it last longer. If your not fit physically and mentally none of any other skills you may have won't matter. And I'm no physically fit any more and need to prioritize that. Finding the balance with time management bet working/income and skills/preparedness I need to work on. We are good on producing food and most things needed to survive. But my entire family could use some more physicall training.
