No, water temperature has dropped to 39° and I didn’t even get a follow, let alone a bite, last night or this morning. And it’s cold enough this morning that the eyelets on my rod are icing up. LOL

Even God can not make them any prettier than that And it is a great day to be alive just to be there to see it happening . I am sure there is a scientific reason for it But it seems that in the fall ;the atmospheric conditions are just right to get this kind of magical display of the dawn of another day.;This pic reminds me of a day that started out with some very good excuses to just sleep in It was the second week of deer rifle season Action had been very very slow from the beginning of it It was the 2nd Thursday so time was getting short I still had a buck tag and 3 doe tags In 50 plus years of hunting I only killed three deer in the same season twice Time was getting short And I had quite a few reason why I wanted to put a tag on something before the end of the season The temp that day was 18 when I left the house about 5:50 to go to the enclose elevated deer blind Also know as RCAT (RADIO CONTROL AIRPLANE TOWER ) that my one deer hunting brother in law and I had engineered using scaffolding and mostly scrap lumber to build an awesome mostly comfortable place to hunt no matter what the condition where that day It was a near to air tight as any of us that hunted that spot could ever hope for . With Plexi glass wind shields on the sides to defect the winds that where a constant thing to deal with Being as it was in the middle of and open field on the top of a wide open area wind and cold where a given II is large enough to hold 3 adult hunters plus a spotting scope to glass at a distance of out to 600 to 700 hundred yards on this landowner's (my nephew's) 150 acre property On the morning I choose that place to hunt it was due to the fact it is just a five minute ride from my home to RCAT plus another 10 minute walk to the blind At 18 degrees I knew it was gonna be cold So dressed accordingly and hot coffee in my thermos to take the chill off I was on my way I was set up and ready to hunt at about 6:40AM within the next 15 minutes 2 deer came from behind me and where slowly working their way towards a large woods Both deer had a heavy coating of frost on their necks and backs I guess they had been bedded in a harvested cornfield during the early morning hours It was legal shooting hours but it was not very light yet One was a buck and the other was a doe I think The buck had 2 points at least on each side But even with my spotting scope l
could not make out a third point The rack had good mass and was much higher than it's ears It had all the makings of a der with 3 or more points on a side But in the early light of the day I could not make out a third point And with the heavy frost on their necks and backs it just made it even harder to tell was it legal of not I watch it work its way across the hundred plus yard field and never felt it was a definite 3 point side on that deer As I sat there second guessing my choice to not shot at what certainly had the makings of a legal buck the red god of the sky slowly made its way to the horizon And even though had not shot at that deer what had been a great morning became a fantastic display of the beauty of nature Deer hunting had gotten me out bed that cold morning But in spite of what might have been a missed opportunity on a buck or a chance at a doe I end up not getting a deer that season I was feeling a little disappointed about other issues and could have used getting a deer as a way to have something that was a positive event to get my self feeling better about what was really important The sunrise I was awitness to was because I wate to get s deer It did n turn out te way ai wanted but I

Double wow on those photos.

One day you'll find someone who is obsessed with you. It's probably going to be a dog. But, it is what it is.

Good ones guys but between aging and some health scares, I think every sunrise is gorgeous anymore..

When I was younger and kept too many irons in the fire, I loved sunsets because in the back of my mind it meant I was caught up enough to rest. Now every sunset is at least some what special.
