Chancey trapper C Joined: Mar 2014 Central Texas	Its been my experience that 4 year old deer (I'm guessing his age when he had the split 2 on his right) run so hard and breed so long that they run themselves into the dumps. If you had a dry spring and summer the following year, then I think it sets them back. Seems to me that deer antler growth goes up exponentially till about 5, then its up and down and up and down. They have good years and bad years. I agree, he is not old enough to be going down hill yet. My bet is he will be even bigger next year. Hope you get him. המשיח הוא המלך

You may be on to something, I believe the deer is 4 1/2 this year. I've seen him for the last 3 seasons and we did have a very dry year this year. Maybe the driest I've ever seen here
