This new group is called Hunters4Hunters. It is an organization that wants to represent the hunters. Not appease our enemies. Predator control is a main focus. They actually want to do something other than lip service. Unlike alot of the other groups that have fundraising as their main focus. Hopefully alot of you guys will check them out and sign up as members.

Love the enthusiasm.
Not sure how well it will shake out in the long run. As long as Putz is the Gov, I just can't see any traction going forward.
How many go to these meetings with a neutral opinion? Very few I'd guess.
This has become a political topic (sadly),
And those usually go to crap.

I intend on going to at least on of their meetings and probably two. Unless something gives me great pause I will be signing up as a member.

It’s hard for me to understand how you guys allowed this ban to ever happen in the first place.

Endangered species act was poorly written and is being exploited. Federal Govt getting involved in something and screwing it up, imagine that.

Isn't there a grizzly hunting ban in BC now?

Well, I can shoot a deer and I can shoot and trap all the wolves I want.

Grab your .44 and get your wolf trapping back!

Wolves in MN were never on the state endangered species list, federally endangered but only threatened in MN. And that was after an all out war against them. Anyone with half a brain would know we could never hurt there population to endanger them in modern times. No bounties and not enough people to work as hard as they did to try and exterminate them in the old days. This is another example of metro areas pushing their agenda on rural folks. MN needs to split in half or go to an electoral vote by county, not population! (I was born and raised a mud duck so I get an opinion)

I hear ya about the electoral system, ours is way worse. The majority of Canadians didn’t want him in and if they just counted every vote he’d be the opposition, but that’s not how it works.

There were about 18 commercial trappers left, and the position was that we were devastating the resource. I fully believe that the DNR hates anyone making money off the renewable natural resources of this state.

All of our legislative problems stem from DFL control of the Legislature and the Governor's office. I am not at all hopeful of a Republican governor or a Republican majority House and Senate happening anytime soon, if ever, in Minnesota. National news talks about Minnesota as the California of the Midwest. This is an accurate assessment of the current political climate in this state.

How many DFL members of the Minnesota House and Senate fully support wolf trapping and hunting in Minnesota? How many fully support fur trapping and stand in opposition to more restrictions on trappers.?

I agree with everything you've said, especially the turtle trapping. I have trapped turtle for years. There are no shortages of snapping turtles in most areas of MN. I mostly trapped the Mississippi river. You can buy a recreational turtle trapping license which allows you 3 snapping turtles. I've had as many as 7 snappers in one trap. We have an anti hunter, trapper, and anything to do with sportsmen activities with goofy Governor Walz. He is the worst MN governor in my lifetime. Sad part is that the Twin Cities controls who wins in the elections with their overwhelming democrat population. Walz loses big in the non-metro areas other than Duluth.

Wife: That's the 4th time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you? Me: No, I keep telling them it's for you.

Back when I was still a resident of MN didn’t we pass special initiative that protected hunting fishing and trapping? That should have protected the turtle trapping since it wasn’t based on science.
