Caught a fresh one today.
Still warm and floppy.
Marten hunt a lot during the day.
This one was hunting the bushline around a beaver pond(I backtracked his fresh tracks for a ways)

Beaverhouse near the shoreline is a good spot for sets.

Rick that track 330 posted is pretty good size. There isn't any lynx that roam that far west is there?

Could have had a limit of cats but they wouldn't stick their heads in. More refusals in one check than in the past 3 seasons combined. They know where the food is so just time now.

100 % bobcat have him on camera,seen bigger track from bobcats before.Yes I have run across a few lynx tracks over the years,they are bigger .but you wont see the pads and toes they have too much fur on their feet.How is it going for you down around home?

Managed one marten today and a real nice sunset finished off the night with a ribeye! Maybe tonight will bring an otter to my sets.

I have ran into quite a few cat tracks and I am waiting for fisher to be done. Then I can go set up the cats. The fisher sign is slim this season. Have found one track and he stays away from my boxes. I am thinking he is one I released the first part of Nov. from a coyote set. It is in the same close area.

I picked up a small cat and a fisher today. Been busy in the fur shed this evening as I took out a few other hides to work on since things have been a bit slow around here. What little snow we got is disappearing fast making it difficult to find any tracks of critters that are moving. Very few coyotes but have noticed and increase in cats this year. Now if I can just figure out where they are at....

Had a very little dusting of snow up the hill today, got to see our first tracks of the season. Lots of fox tracks, saw one fox cruising the shoulder. Two sets of marten tracks but for the miles I put on it was a pretty pathetic day for seeing anything that was moving. Maybe tonight’s the night

Going to set today. Saw lots of cat tracks yesterday. Also wolves, coyotes, red fox, and gray fox. Weasel tracks everywhere. No fisher tracks though. Sad to see the lack of deer, used to hunt this area. Predators have decimated them

Good morning,winds died down 5 above I think the critters were on the move,we'll find out in a few hours.Scott will be heading back early afternoon,I think we will have a marten for him this check,it's been fun showing him the country and trapping glad he was able to get his first cat.Scott didn't start out small might as well make that first cat a hue Tom 40 plus pounds lol.Breakfast time in about and hour,have a great day everyone.

Our cat and fisher season starts this Saturday in PA!! I am excited to get some sets in!! Congratulations on a cat of a lifetime 330!! 30lb is a monster in PA, can't imagine one over 40lb!! Congratulations!!
