hundred thousand for offer in March which in this quantity will be available nowhere else. "

Would someone please explain what this statement means?

It means, they private treatied everything cheap last year and have no inventory, In a nutshell, send us more so we can do it again!

Not sure what you are talking about Tom "everything PT'ed".

Had 47 skins on that sale from 8 species. 44 sold at auction, 2 skins unsold and 1 skin (if you know how to read lot numbers) sold PT before the sale.

FHA market update talks about several hundred thousand 'rats held for March sale. In May they had 267,000 'rats that were "mainly unsold". With nil 'rats being trapped this past spring and fall, due to low prices, that tells me most of those 266,000 are still in the warehouse and unsold i.e. not PT'ed.

Could someone tell me how many
US lower 48 produced MARTEN, FISHER, OTTER and LYNX were sold at FHA last sale?

The main harvest in the lower 48 is usually coon, muskrat, fox, coyote and beaver. I would think then followed by bobcat ?

Does anyone know how many cats ,coyote, coon, fox and muskrats are still unsold?

That would leave otter and marten besides beaver as the most desirable. I believe that's a very small # on marten and otter so that would leave beaver as really the only large harvestable and marketable animal in demand in the lower 48?

I've been averaging $60-65 for otter the last several years on the craft market. My guess is that FHA won't come close to that this season.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I guess this would be a start, what was unsold but no idea what was private treatied afterwards.

Reading the market update December 2023 and the May newsletter it appears FHA took the May results and put some window dressing on it and then printed it for the December 2023

I know for a fact that there are at least 5000 (or more) eastern coyotes unsold. That is as of about 10 days ago.

Not sure about the other species.

Except for coyotes, the Private Treaty catalogs are closed, so I would assume all other species are fairly well sold out except for dealer goods with high limits.

Hoping so, as stated holding to valuation. Which will make FHA look very good if/when things bounce back. The stars may finally start to align. 10 years is a deep canyon.

Deep canyons are those edges around the muskrats when they are stored in their cold room.
Consider 1200 -1600 skins in a water melon tote 40x48x 48 " heigh X 3 high stacked

The electrical bill for cooling is sure draining the profits X 3 years running

North Bay electric bill. Was at North Bay April 2014 n Downey explained to me they cut their electric bill quite a bit by using water from Lake Nipissing as coolant for the storage rooms. Forget the details but he said it was worth the investment.

Thank you.

So I assume they sold trappers goods at any price ? any idea what percentage of goods sold thru FHA are dealer goods?

Good thing trappers will supply at any price, even when they know it's bad.

He was paying $15 top for green coon Saturday in Fort Dodge , Iowa.

Golden triangle coon are some of the best North America has to offer.
