Been taking it easy for the month making new videos but thought I would share on of the first videos I ever put on my YouTube channel. This is a trail cam complication from a powerline cut on my farm. Tons of critters use it when it gets left alone for a bit. At the end of the video you can see the powerline crew come through and clear the right of way with chainsaws. They didn't sound to thrilled to see the camera! Several bobcats, coyotes, coons, deer and other critters in the video.
Great video. I’m gonna assume from the coyotes reactions that it’s a glow type camera? I’ve had the same reactions which I why I won’t use one that glows on my actual traps. They didn’t tolerate it long before you got no more pics. Bobcats are bobcats and just don’t care. I’ve noticed that thermal hunting as well. There’s sometimes I think I could get close enough to grab one by the scruff of the neck…NO I’m not that stupid. Bobcats just have a don’t care attitude in front of cams or even people at night it seems. That feral cat would have to go. My landowners rank critters in this order: coons, possums, feral cats, bobcats, then finally coyotes. They’re quail and turkeys, then the fawn killers type of landowners.
Wanna Be - Yep, that coyote was reacting to the glow, and this is a low glow camera. It was set low to the ground to get better shots but I have found if I hang them head high (to me) they don't seem to care. I never saw that cat while I was out and about. I haven't seen any cats on my place in about a year now and I am very happy about that.
I do have a video of a coyote that saw the camera from a 2 track and actually came in to investigate the “glow” it actually surprised me. For the most part, they act just like yours did.

Wanna Be - I think if they see it from a distance they have a different reaction to the glow. When it goes off and they are close to the camera they take off like a scalded cat. Most other critters don't seem to care or they are mildly curious. Except for coons, they will try to take the camera off the tree.
Raghorn67 - Thanks! I try to make sure there is a good mix of critters in there - but I do keep them in chronological order as they showed up to the camera. Plenty of bad shots and wind shots to edit out, it actually takes a bit of time to put one of these together.
