I guess all I can do is look at past photos and reminisce.

Not your normal winter weather this year,the truck showed 0 at one time this morning and now tomorrow's high will be in the 40's.The big lake is partial frozen,with the next 10 day forecast it wont be making much ice.It could be mid Jan before they get fishing this winter,or later.She windy out there tonight,we'll see if there's much on the move tonight.Hitting the hay,check in the morning and after the trap check,probably will catch a marten or two now that Scott back home.

Another day has started,well in about 2 1/2 hours the daylight will start.Breakfast time is coming soon,oat meal or eggs I don't know yet.Have a good day,hope people get to see some spots and blazes along their lines.I'm wiating for 4 cats to come back through so I could have another cat in the next 2 checks,being Scott has left I'm almost sure a marten will show up today.

I know you'll catch a

Heading out in a few minutes to go take out a marten or two,hopefully a fox and a coyote will be in the mix as well,a cat should show up within a day or to.Better get going....

I don't think this warm weather is helping out much at all. Hate to say it but we need some snow and cold to make things work.

Not seeing a lot of action. I have little confidence with bobcats and 220’s. Wish we didn’t have a daily check on snares. If we didn’t, good chance we would have had 1 or 2 by now.

I know two sets of Trapping partners who scared 8 cats between the 4 of them with 160 and 220 set back box's

IMO the most effective bobcat set is a walk through- bar none.

Boxes can work well,I know two trappers that run them,lots of locations running 80 or more they still get refusals,but it's a numbers game the more boxes you can get cats in front of you'll do ok.I burn gas and run footholds and snares,but I'm never more than 10 miles from the house.Blind sets are very good around cubbies,you blind set 10 to 30' from a cubby,make walk thru around cubbies,rub sets and or flashy dirt holes.I like the blind walk thru's I construct around the main draw of the cubby.All quite today other than wolf tracks,coyote and a few fox tracks,I hung a few more snares today the snow finally melted or was blown off the trees so a person can see again.Now it's a waiting game for a few cats to make their loop again,still no marten Scott.

Forgot I set out 8 weasel boxes today,so more than likely I'll fur caught everyday now lol.Truck said 42 to 44 today the snow was melting fast,you can see dirt on some of the fields.
