Nice to see such success for a new trapper! Been very slow around here but managed to pick up my second fisher today on a flashy dirthole ment for cats. Snow is all but gone taking most if any sign with it. Pulled a few sets and relocated them in some fresh areas in hopes of getting another cat. Got a call today from a farmer who has raccoon problems. With this warm weather they are out in force. Picking up the neighbors boy (9) after school tomorrow and going over to see if we can help them out with that problem. Hope to have a few Saturday morning for him.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Heavy rain here most of the night and forecast to continue most of the day. Having to wear raingear to check empty sets is going to kind of suck but it is better than the 3 feet of snow last year.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Fog mist up here,it's brekfast time bacon and eggs,Merl a trapper friend is riding along today, should have some fur,my guess 1 bobcat,1 marten,3 weasels and a coyote or fox.Scott you should show your cat picture holding him by his back feet the belly shot it really shows how big he was.Did you get out around home scouting yet? Rick.......... I can tell you're a bachelor - by the questions you've asked me ;LOL! cat is in my freezer No , I've not hit the trail scouting- I had to catch up on honey-do-list chores probably today or Saturday when the 14 year old boy I'm mentoring can go with. I have to cut a tree later today and at least stand it up. *** My prediction is you will Catch Big foot cat today and one other.

Thanks! Picked up another ermine today with no signs on anything else moving. Light rain on and off this morning. Heading over to do a raccoon job after lunch. This warm weather has them out in force on this farm.

I had the bait taken out of one cubby and the bait snapped in the trap at another. With he warm temps and bait not being frozen in the box I suspect weasels or possibly a Marten. HEAVY rain here for the last 12 hours and the ice in the swamps is getting pretty soft.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Started to rain here pretty good right after I got back from running my traps. The raccoon job will have to hold off til tomorrow I guess. Meanwhile I played in the fur shed. Caught a raccoon in a beaver set so though I would put it up like one. It turned out pretty good so I might have to hoop it. That is really cool!

Good afternoon, fun day on the line, first cat of the day back foot caught climbed a balsam tree about 20' shot that one with the pistol chopped the tree down and of course it hangs up on another.I didn't feel like chopping it again, there were a couple of DNR guys down the road so I burrowed their chain saw,23 lbs female no kittens were with her.2nd cat was at the old beaver house with the high and dry entrance where the wolf had taken the bait last Saturday before Scott and I set it up,another female 24.5 lbs both were caught in Jake's.Saw 6 different cat track's today, one of my BEST locations a mother and her two kittens came through, lucky for me they didn't set off the footholds and the kittens went threw both snares and the foothold and mother got lucky so I pulled that area,I know there's a big Tom there, but I don't want to catch her. Finally a marten found a set and worked it,a real nice extra dark female, had an otter slide under a bobcat snare set on an old crossover, over the year's I think I have snared about 6 otters in bobcat snare's 2 were dead the others were not.Pulling a bunch of cat stuff tomorrow and marten stuff on Sunday. The one big cat I will try to catch him for sure,he's close to home, what ever cat is caught next he/she will be number 100.Have a good rest of the afternoon,Scott will post some picture's later,I can't log in on my smart phone I use the same password etc. but says it's wrong I will have to check with Paul on that,so I can post pictures again. 't
