I have a 79. Love it. Trapping and fishing camper. It has gotten me where I need to go at 60 miles and hour.
Praise the Lord and Pass the ammunition.

A fella I know installed a small diesel engine in his and rewired if and it did better not great but better . As for the roof remember " Through The Roof " is some wonderful stuff if it leaks it can be applied in a rain storm and it will still seal things up ! Just don't get it on any cloths that you like .

A fella I know installed a small diesel engine in his and rewired if and it did better not great but better . I had a Isuzu P'Up (Chevy S-10) with a four cylinder diesel engine in it back in the early eighties. I think I paid around $5,000 for it new. Most gutless little truck you ever saw. Two of our average framed members sitting in the bed would max out its freight capability. It got around forty miles a gallon. I hated it at the time but I'd love to have another. I didn't know it then but they were quite rare.

I hunted with a few guys who had those Isuzu diesels, their tongue started hanging out when they seen a hill coming, and they were lower than a snakes belly, would high center on anything. But they did get good gas mileage, and the motors lasted. They were a Chevy Luv though, not an S-10 That is indeed the rig. And you're correct about the Luv. The S-10 followed the Luv.
