Wife and I went on a cruise several years back. Flew to Puerto Rico, boarded, and hit several islands, including Aruba, just a couple of weeks after that girl was kidnapped and killed ( don't remember her name, but they made a movie about it.)
Wife enjoyed the experience of the cruise, me not so much. I'd spent several months "cruising" around the Atlantic, Caribbean, South Pacific and Indian Ocean in a previous "job", and while the cruise ship was a bit more accommodating, with much better food, than my previous rides, I'd still much rather be in a place that I can come and go as I please.
After that one, we agreed that any future trips to that part of the world would be by air, not boat.

My greatest boat trip ever was a dependents cruise on CV62 (I think), the Independence. Out of Norfolk, VA.
Went out about 80 miles, flew jets out, F4 low level sonic boom, guns, target practice and all. Awesome !
Also did one on a nuclear attack sub, The Sea Devil (SSN-664)
It was a nice place to visit, but chose not to live there.

Gary, I too worked for your Uncle. These cruises are way more enjoyable than my previous ones, lol. A lot better scenery too, maybe not as exciting as some in the past, but definitely better scenery.
