Last year I watched a very touching movie called, "Christmas Story". It's a fictional story of how Santa Claus became Santa Claus.
Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.

I don't care for the Scrooge movie. There is way to much sadness and despair going on for way too long before you finally get to the punch line at the end where it is supposed to be uplifting. By then I am too worn down with sadness to be uplifted. The Grinch is my go to Christmas movie, either the original animated one or the JIm Carey version.

There wasn't a lot of uplifting going on when Dickens was writing that story.

There wasn't a lot of uplifting going on when Dickens was writing that story. That makes sense. No wonder watching the movie based on Dickens' experience during that time depresses me.
