It is an absolute downpour here right now and started a couple of hours ago. This is NOT December weather in MN!

Good thing it's not snow

I just got in and am soaked to the bone! The frost is coming out of the ground and the ice is getting SUPER sketchy. I did pick up 3 beaver and a coon today. I may have to pull the last 3 Beaver sets tomorrow until we get more ice. I am getting too old to be swimming everyday.

Wasn't expecting anything today,the creeks are running on top of the ice,had to pull a few weasel boxes as they had become water sets last night.Later today this rain will turn into sleet snow.A little cooler week coming,I will pull 70% of everything on Tue,I will leave the big track location out,until I get him or I don't.I will leave a couple coyote traps and snares out as well for a touch longer.Dec 24 rain and flooding creek's are we sure we are still in MN.

Put on my chest waders and a rain coat. Looked goofy as heck but I stayed reasonably dry. Seen the frogs are out but no beaver or otter today. Pulled a few sets today too, just too difficult to keep traps working in this weather. Might reset some if things dry up a bit.

Pulled all the snares that were on what used to be ice. Think the cats will move to high ground now. Much more and I think of pulling everything and put up some fur.

Well at least the rain has stopped,snowing now might get an inch,better than rain...

The last I looked we had over an inch of rain, still raining and isn't forecast to quit for another 24 hours. By tomorrow we will have more open water than we did for the opener in October.

I'd just as soon it doesn't snow until this mess get a chance to refreeze.

Feels like April.

I bought a new snowmobile this fall and I feel like I'm being punished lol.

Ish! I spent the afternoon in the woods and they are a mess. If you would have told me this fall that I would catch a mudball cat on the 24th of December I would have said you were crazy.


Well, it would have been released if it would have been in better shape. After I slipped and slid all the way to the trap, I was going to pull them either way, so he should have waited one more day to eat.

Just got back from my brothers place for Christmas eve,had a real nice time with all of the families.We ended up with over an inch of rain here too,still spitting snow now and the ground is covered once again.Jim that is one wet cat,when it's dry you'll have to let us know if it's a decent colored cat.Merry Christmas all,maybe I'll have a Christmas cat in the morning.

One beaver for me today. Putting the trapping stuff away for a couple days and back to chasing partridge. I'm heading NE this time I believe.
