I wrecked the ears a bit, but other that that I think it went ok. Took about 8 hours including a couple baths before boarding. Was surprised that it’s about 63”, I didn’t stretch it down, just snugged it up. Flipping fur out was crazy, front legs were only split to the elbow. Will do things a bit different next time.

Looks more like a coyote?

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

I know it's a wolf because I was following the post you made about catching it.

It's remarkable how similar the coloring is to many of our eastern coyote. It might have something to do with the interbreeding between wolves and western coyotes that some say produced our easterns?

Eh...wot?

Good job shakeyjake. I prefer to frostscrape wolf,if the weather co operates,It,goes pretty fast and easy, about 15 minutes to scrape them clean including the head and legs.
You dont have to turn the front legs to the outside. It is acceptable in or out.
Your board looks a bit narrow especially in the head and neck, like the FHA boards.

You can you just have to release It.
A few years ago I was In Oconto County trapping coyotes. And we caught a wolf In a coyote set. Pretty neat and the best part It pulled out when we were taking pictures.

You were lucky. I don't think it would be much fun trying to release a wolf.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

Yea, when it was skin side out I pinned it to a mink board.
If you see it for real, there’s more black & grey in there, but it still looks coyoteish.

I bought a board & stand from Top Lot while in Michigan….$180 I think. I wasn’t going to but the old lady said I’d regret it by the time we’re 5 minutes out of Escanaba….lol

The majority of the wolves I get are of that tawny/coyote color. Some are not much bigger than a coyote.

They still look nice on the boards.

Turning the lips, nose, ears, and feet I find to be very relaxing work. I enjoy the process of detail.

Wolves paws aren’t all cut up like coyotes…..I always see coyotes with gashes in their foot from fighting the trap….or were these ones caught by snares?? (Ones on the tarp)
