My wife loves her 2021. 3.6 v6. Great mileage, rides nice. Doesn't have the giddy up my 6.2 Silverado has, but she'll drive by me and wave while I'm filling up.

I had one of the 1st generation models and I loved it except for the engine. The first-generation engines had a defect in design of the head which caused the head to lose compression after 60 to 100 thousand miles. If it weren't for that I would recommend them. Second generation might be great, I don't know.

I like GM and Chevrolet, but I have never seen a truck rust away so fast as the Colorado. Good friend is a recycler, he has had two scrap Colorados pull into two pieces winching onto a roll back. Nothing but extreme rust buckets up here in Michigan.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Yes I bought a new GMC Canyon AT4. I really love the truck so far and after owning a new Tacoma every other year( sometimes 3 years) since 1982 I would say this is the nicest mid size truck I have ever owned by a long shot. The interior of the GMC absolutely blows away any Tacoma interior I ever had period. Just a much more comfortable truck. Don't get me wrong here-I used and loved my Tacomas! They are excellent trucks. This new GMC is miles ahead of the last generation Tacomas-like not even close-and I have owned a ton of them. The last Tacomas transmission was an absolute turd. Would put the truck on cruise hauling anything and as soon as you would hit a wind or a hill it would kick down and rev like ten bears until I touched the brake pedal to disengage the cruise and then re-set it.Pretty poor design for a truck trans period. Toyota had no answer to it.

All I am saying is the new Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyons are beautiful midsize trucks that are very comfortable to drive-don't give up on them before you have tried or driven in one. This one I own has impressed me so far and I trapped out of it this fall-good solid truck. I wish it had a 6 foot bed but I got around that staying organized back there just fine.

Can you not get a 6 foot bed as an option? That would be a deal killer for me.
I have friend that has the 5 cylinder Canyon and he likes it.

Neighbor has a new Colorado and likes it so far. I think most people like their vehicles when they are new...means nothing until they are ten years old with 120k miles on them...tell us then. Not meant to be a smart arse comment...I think like most other GM products, the proof will be in the pudding after they have been around for a decade.

If they are still using the Caddy-8speed beware of that problematic automatic.
