What are yours?

My goal is to catch a coyote in a snare

Have tried it a few times with no results but I plan to put more effort into it in 2024

I want to catch a cat or coyote in a snare and to increase my trapping time, also catch a coyote on purpose. I have caught them in cat sets but never set just for coyotes.

The good Lord willing, looks like i'll have to travel out of state but i want to run an ermine line. I would love to catch some longtail snow white ermine and get them tanned.
Sure, i could buy some already done but what's the fun in that.

Caught my first fox in a snare. Perfect neck catch. Goal #1 is to catch a bunch more.

Goal #2 is to set more snares for coon. I didn’t get docked for snare marks so I’ll set more snares in 2024. Besides, they’re easier on arthritic hands than bodygrips or foot traps.

Goal #3 is to talk to more farmers this summer and fall. Can’t catch them if you don’t have enough permissions.

#2 Help/watch a new trapper catch an animal that thrills them.

I wanted to catch a beaver the way i intended. Struck out. Will have to wait for spring if weather and work time allows or next December. Got 2 in muskrat sets and one that tail slapped a 330.

I need to get more serious and organized about running or establishing 2-3 dry land trap lines before I get too old to run them. also if it is another dry year the rat habitat that I had 3- 4years ago will still be dry and rat numbers will be low as they were this year and last year. Also I will try tanning a couple coon and a canine if I catch one as with these prices not much loss if they don't turn out. My trap line up until 3-4 years ago was about exercise and dropping some weight. I need to get in better shape again and move quicker and longer. And yes enjoying the adventures will be key. Also more time small game hunting as well.

I'd like to make it a goal to learn how to catch beaver and otter by next year. I just started trapping with footholds in 2023 and ordered my first DPs a week ago. Moving into the water with those bigger, funnier looking traps seems a little bit overwhelming right now.

For my truck and fur shed to not look like a cyclone hit it a week into the season.
