After skinning out feet and finishing an otter pelt that way is when I re-learn why I don't do that much anymore. Especially when I see they bring the same money as my other otters! We have several animals we didn’t have 40 years ago, otter, beaver, coyotes and abundant cats. Several we had like fox, mink and rats are scarce. I’m still thrilled to catch otters and set for them.Myself, I enjoy trapping much more these days just trapping salable items and having fun. We have a limit of six so I can’t make work out of it.

A fur buyer scolded me for not leaving the feet on my otter last year. Easy $15-20 extra just for the feet. Doesn't seem like that much extra work?
