I don't, well no i KNOW yankee's will never understand the culture down here, old friends consider razor sharp insults to one another as a sign that person really means alot to you, if you don't like someone you speak as little to them as possible, not rude just no cutting up as we call. Come football season the back and forth is brutal especially in state between bama fans and that cow college that just let that dairy farm college whup them like they were some fart state college in Florida, lol.

Is Florida state still claiming they are the national champion's now? lol. Oh they had too may opt outs, funny to me I couldn't tell any difference when the 3rd string of Georgia's came out, they kept scoring touch downs with their high school kids out there, lol.

At any rate next season we have the scrambled egg schedule's, yankee teams mixed in with SEC teams so we can see how wonderful they look then not getting to play their usual cupcake schedule all season long.

And Nitty is a good egg, we have met over the years in person many times so it's not me picking on a nice guy, it's me showing I like him, if i didn't id not rib him about football on here.

Used to be that Kansas University had the most cheering T Shirt fans around. You know cling on’s that didn’t really go to the school but bought a t shirt with a mythical Tucan on it at JC Penny’s and pounded their chest because the school won a championship. We were wrong the sec has the biggest base of t shirt fans in spades…..

It means pick a team not everyone wins a trophy. And alma mater maters. NFL teams are usually what you grow up with. Hey I non resident trap Minnesota because I have a lifetime license, therefore I am learning disabled and a Vikings fan by choice. I don’t root for the chiefs because they suddenly are winning no I suffer with the Vikings.

You truly don't understand life in the south. That or you're one of those elite snobs who's daddy got you into his fraternity and thinks us plebes should just remain silent unless spoken to.

Sure, every school has it's bandwagon fans but in the south one is born into a multi generational fan base. You have to be born and raised here to understand it. And no you do not have to be an alum because it's about far more than something as petty as a degree.

1926 Alabama put one on Washington in the Rose Bowl. Unless you can understand what is was to be a southerner in 1926 and to have a southern school win out against those "yankees" after a generation of reconstruction and the still to this day prejudice of the rest of the nation was something spiritual. Something that we rallied around and took to heart.

But I'm sure I'll be mocked for this post as you got to be born here to understand here.

I was born in Kansas attended a land grant institution K-State and cover Texas Oklahoma Missouri and Kansas in my employment life. I don’t need a lesson in southern man speak…. We were neutral back in the day. t shirt is t shirt you cheat by going with the favorite flavor of the day. Grew up in Minnesota not by choice to Californian for me now..

No investment no risk no commitment… what you all Missouri fans now… it took a 61 yard last second field goal to beat us earlier in the year. We lost but not necessarily to the better team… will be back again next year.. it’s how it works. Now if you are opining that families are like catahoulas in the south and have no alliances then that’s a whole nuther matter….but I don’t think that’s the case..

Warrior is correct. Where your allegiance lies, is whatever house you were born into. Mine was GA. My kids are GA fans. I have a buddy whose parents were Bama fans. He and his kids are Bama fans. One of his sons went to UGA…and is still a Bama fan. Doesn’t matter where you went to school or if you went, you’re just born a predestined fan. I have another buddy at work that’s a Florida fan. He can’t help it, he was born into it. My coworker is an FSU fan, you can only imagine the texts that were sent back and forth the other night, lol. But guess what, come Tuesday we’ll be working side by side with no hard feelings, lol.
I don’t know of anyone that “switches” their loyalty because of wins or losses.
