Those are strong traps for sure. Gotta several stashed away. I like the Montgomery 11s and diggers

Bought and sold a lot of traps over the years to get to where I’m at now with the traps l wanted so I’d pass on other traps to start that cycle all over again. LOL

44 B&L dbls and #14 jumps.
One trap I always wished was made but don’t think it ever was, an 0 double long spring. Always thought it would make a great mink trap.
Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

The Coons Den in Palestine, Ohio used to carry a coon sized, 30" by 14" by 14", heavy duty box trap, with a solid metal door, they were fantastic. They later switched to an all wire trap, of a lighter gauge, that were decent. I would love to have about 2 dozen of the original trap. My original box traps are beat up or missing from being loaned out.
I have 1 smaller trap, built like the coon sized ones. I once caught a 26 pound boar coon in one. He barely had the space to blink. He had near perfectly took on the shape of the box trap. I think the heavy door tapped him hard on the rear end, startling him so badly, he pushed in as hard as he possibly could. I couldn't have packed him much tighter with a hammer.
The solid metal door made it much easier to approach skunks and to release catches, in the rare cases where I chose too. I got no back outs in them, like I did occasionally with the lighter door traps.
I had a coyote that would travel down my line and raid my box traps and a few very large coons that would do the same. 2 strategically placed 1 1/2s just in front of the door stopped that problem whenever it occurred.
