I have an old raggedy trap basket that I like to carry the traps in and most of my heavy set making stuff. My sod buster and my earth anchor driver. Then I have the forsythe trappers bag for my lures and my sifter, a big oats container with lid for dry dirt, kneeling pad and such.
What do you all use? I feel like I’d be better off if I could carry most of my stuff on my back…
Maybe I should switch to a pack basket with outer pockets for lures and urines

Carrying heavy things on yer back is for horses.
I trap out of a pickup bed or from an ATV. Some of the pastures I trap would take you all day to walk across

Here we can drive to about any set but cat sets are the exception for that I use a cat bag to carry mostly remake stuff and snares if I come across a good place to set them.

My little ranger is rear wheel drive and is NOT good in the fields ! I have to walk a little ways to my sets. Would rather have most of it on my shoulders I think!

As I only trap on my own property, I throw what I need in the loader bucket of the tractor

It changes from day to day but i do know it's way more than i need. I carry a five gallon bucket with the traps in and i use it to set on while making my sets.

Wonder how the old timers did it. Like E.J. Dailey and S.Stanley Hawbaker?? People were tougher back then!!

I trap out of my truck on my fox line. I almost exclusively trap on two-tracks and tractor lanes on farmland and can drive right up to most of my sets.

I have a 5 gallon bucket full of peat and a trappers bag with a shoulder harness that holds all my gear for the sets I have to walk in to.

For beaver trapping, I bought one of those nifty fiberglass backpacks a few years ago.

Put som ruts in my field toady where I put in a water line. I had tilled it to get it to level out 4 months ago. Thought I was going to half to walk up th the barn for the tractor.

But we trap out of my truck sxs or even my boys lawn mower with garden cart. Don't do a lot of walking.

For dirt trapping I used a bag just like Lugnut. For Beaver I use a very large Duluth Pack. I can put more Beaver in it than I can get off the ground with. I absolutely HATE those fiberglass baskets. They are loud in the woods and like a sled in the snow. If you set one down on a Beaver house it will be out in the middle of the feedbed before you can light a smoke.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Hawbaker said don’t smoke while you’re trapping. Or let your nose “leak” at your sets!! laugh

Stanley forgot more about trapping than I will ever know. I don't use the dirthole for an ashtray and try not to pee directly on my sets but I doubt it is the first time those critters have smelled it. Lugnut runs farm roads that smell like diesel and oil yet he catches critters.

Add to that they're expensive and not real comfortable either.

I'm pretty new to beaver trapping, only been at it three or four years now and on a limited basis. The Fiber-Tuff basket is a step up from what I was using which was my dirt-trapping bag. That wasn't big enough.

Got a link or pic of the pack you use?

You don't do that? Everytime I catch a rat in the water I swap out with a fresh trap. Rats can be tricky to catch! I swap traps with Beaver too. Maybe I need to write a book......
