There no perfect option. I would rather spend more money to have more days with dry feet/legs/crotch.

Neoprene are basically all disposable now for me. If you get a week out of then trapping before major leaks…your doing pretty good. A lot of the breathable options I have used will work. The cheaper they are, the worse the boots for traction and all day comfort.

The best I have used are:
Simms G3’s boot footed waders have held up the best and keep me the driest of any wader I have used. Eventually the seams in the crotch blew out beyond repair after a few thousand beaver trapped with them. They will get pin hole leaks that are easily repaired long term with a little aqua seal. If you get tears in them (rebar, sharp sticks you put all your weight kneeling on) you will get tears. But again they can be successfully repaired with patches and aqua seal.

For stocking foot waders OS systems waders are the best I have used. Dry suit company that makes waders. Can be customizable to your size/needs. The big draw back are they are not breathable, and they are only available in stockingfoot…so those in the north are going to freeze their feet. Get the dry suit material sewn in feet on them, they behold up better than the glued on silicone ones.

BigBlackBirds,
It is a torture device. Can't get off of it when you walk in to it. It is a variety of Smilax or greenbrier. One of the most common swamp plant species down here.
