Yesterday was our Daughter in laws Birthday so we took our Daughter in Law Son Grand daughter and her Parents out to eat. Now I am a Diabetic and I usually take my shot at home when eating out Locally. We were going to Milwaukee so I brought my little Wallet sized bag with my Blood Tester Test Strips Insulin Pen and Alcohol Pads with me. When we went out Darcy our Daughter in law picked the restaurant and we all met there. As usual after getting our drinks and ordering I retired to the Bathroom to test my blood sugar and take my insulin which in 1cc for every 15 carbs. While in the Bathroom a man watched me take the shot but never said anything so I said Diabeties sure sucks because I was trying to make light of it. So I go to our table and am talking to Darcys Mother and Father when I look up and there is the Manager and two Police Officers standing there. The Manager blurts out that he does not stand for people to SHOOT UP in his Bathrooms and Demands we leave. So I handed my prefilled Insulin pen to the Officer and let him read what it was. The other Officer already knew what it was without even reading it. It looks like a large Magic Marker and you can twist the end and read the gauge on the side to know how much Insulin you are taking. I have never seen a druggie use an Insulin Pen to inject insulin. I told the manager what a real POS he was and asked him why he could not have Handled more discreetly by maybe asking to speak to me in the lobby area instead of embarassingly screaming that I was shooting up. Darcy and her Mom know the actual owner. Darcys Mom actually went to High school with him. My Wife actually worked there in High School. It is a family owned Business that has been in the Family for several Generations and serves some of the best Italian food in the state. They Both told him he was unprofessional and that Mr Felipo would be told. Now the Officer who knew what the insulin pen was also knew that it was a blood sugar tester so obviously he knows someone that is a Diabetic. He actually apologized so did his Partner. They told us to enjoy our meal but we all left. The Manager never did say anything and neither did the idiot that was in the Bathroom and obviously has no Morals.

Shoot man, I would’ve demanded a free meal and ordered everything on the menu, lol!!

Felipo called Lori , My Wife, and their will be a free Meal and drinks on the House next weekend. I guess Felipos wife is back to Manager. She is a very nice lady and a great Cook. So we will ALL be back.

ADA regs (American Disability Act) are in place to protect you from that crap. Happened to my wife once . I went red head mode on them. Told them i'd own that place and my first act would be to fire his A#$.
But chose to let him squirm wondering if I would sue.


But on that note if you don't already get you a dexcom6 !! It will change your life. Yes finger sticks are still part of management but only to calibrate and on occasion double check if you feel differently. My wife's is connected to her phone that shares to mine. Been 2 times I have been on the lake at night that the alarm on my phone prevented a potential disaster.

They came out with a dexcom 7 but it has bugs.

Free style libre you have to hold the receiver up to it. The dexcom is connected via blue tooth.

I am working on it. MyDoctor told me my Insurance company has to deny three requests then they have to pay up.

At work a few years ago a c o worker gave himself a needle in the lunch room.

like breast feeding no need to hide it in the bathroom , right at the table pull out your tester test and shoot up.

it is the city of dog poop at the moment everyone walked their dog while there was snow , didn't pick it up and now that it is melting back , it is poop pile city every curb , next to every side walk. the court yard area in front of my daughters apartment building.

Ah! that sorta 'splains the sharps (needle) disposal stations in gas station rest rooms. I had been thinking kinda along the lines of that manager.

I've seen someone do it at the restaurant table on several occasions. Wouldn't even have known it if I hadn't happened to be looking in their direction. No big deal.
