When he first started with the Brooklyn Dodgers, some of the team refused to have their photo taken if he was in it because he was the only black person on the team. Very sad. In the end he proved them all wrong. He was a great player. Remember as a kid we played army and you gave up the fort so the other side got it? Of course you don't. Little kids aren't that stupid.

He eventually become great friends with some of them. Probably the most notable was the Dodger captain and shortstop, PeeWee Reese. Remember as a kid we played army and you gave up the fort so the other side got it? Of course you don't. Little kids aren't that stupid.
