You could consider running a marine grade starter (cheaper) and usually a lot more readily avilable. I also see Autozone has them for $145 online.

Best method I've ever found to diagnose battery/ connection/starter in my 40+ years of mechanics is to......

Pull headlights on and hit the starter.

With a bad connection and one click like you had, headlights will go out as soon as you hit the switch.
Weak battery, multiple clicks your headlights will dim really low.
Starter bad, your headlights will stay lit.

This has treated me very well as a quick diagnosis over the years!
