Well we are now at 8 skunks in 4 days in the same three traps.. all big males... they gota b in rut. 1 in a dp, 3 in a blind set, 4 in a tire set baited with squirrel guts and gland lure all on the same 30 acher plot of land....now in on a mission to clean out every one of these things b4 the season ends... hopefully that will put a big enough hurting on them that I don't have to mess with them much next season.. 1 of them I js had to bury it... it was mangy and full of scabs and looks like part of his tail rotted off...

Good deal. They been out like Pepe LePew chasing that cat. Usually starts beginning of February here.
Our season ended a week ago or I'd still be catching them. How about a few pics. I love seeing them stinkers.

You are probably not hurting the population a lot because all of the females those big males have been breeding are going to more than replenish the ones you are taking out.

No... I don't keep the quill... there is enough in the air. my wife would kill me for having that anywhere within 2 miles of the house... I have to skin them in the field and when I get home, they have to go strait in the bucket with the peroxide solution...

Neighbor called this AM with skunk under his porch in a window well. When I peeked over the edge I found two of them. Dispatched both of them without incident. Both males, makes me wonder how they both managed to fall in.

That's awesome. Nice looking skunk. I've never had much luck with tire sets. I would have been real happy to have that set produce like that. Worth more than yotes and reds to me anyway. Thanks for posting

Think they finally slowing down on this property... finally a coon..

This is how all my trie sets start out. There is quite a few in the field or sticking g out the hill. This one has a trail comming down the top and around the side to the bottom of the hill. So I will usually set these tire sets simular to this.
