Some of you may remember that a while back I changed my batterie tools from De Walt to Milwaukee. Well I am happy that I did.
I been using the circular saw with a 6 ah batterie pack now for a while and am loving it. Don't get me wrong, It can not keep up with the Mag 7 Skillsaw that runs on AC. ( I put a 40 foot chord on it ) But its way better than the De Walt version ... Framing with Poplar right now that is a little harder than the usual stuff that is used for framing it eats it pretty good. It is a lot lighter than my Mag 7 as well and the batterie lasts a good while. it has way more torque than the De Walt and I find it easier to lead and cut straight with it that the DW. The impact driver is way lighter than the De walt counterpart but has more grunt to it as well. The angle grinder is a little bit on the big side but I guess thats the nature of the beast when there is a batterie pack hanging of the back. I do find myself picking it up rather than the 2 bosh ones I have in the drawer. mainly for when I want to trim off a bolt or quickly sharpen a brush hog blade etc. Seven messing around with extension chords. When working on the bench, I do use the Bosh AC grinders ... One has a cut off disk and the other a grinding one in it, so I don't have to swap them out. Over all I am really happy that i swapped over to the red side. The admiral is also happy as she now has the yellow stuff for her projects when I am away at work.

Milwaukee tools in my opinion are the best. Dewalt comes close. The rest are good for home owners.

Currently building my companies office. We are using CLT and glu lam beam joists and decking. I screwed off the field of 3 1/8” decking using 14x5” screws. Roughly 900 screws. My old Milwaukee impact smoked the dewalt and makita drivers around me and most of my other tools last much longer than the rest. The worst part of it is everyone is always using my tools but i guess thats comes with being a lead

Did you get the fuel variety. That’s what we use now and never plan on going back.

I got the fuel sawsall . Fuel ones are better , going to get more of them.

Just got this gizmo about a week ago. Tire inflater thingie. Works ok for those quickie jobs , no cords or hoses to drag. Got the real compressor for the big jobs , but this thing is handy.

DeWalt has really gone downhill quality-wise in the last five or ten years, maybe longer.

Twenty-five years ago they were a top quality brand. I still have a bunch of their corded tools. I'm a general contractor and they have all seen hard use. I've got three of their circular saws, a 12" sliding compound miter saw, a 12.5" planer, a jobsite table saw, palm sanders, etc After a quarter century of hard daily use these tools are still working as intended.

I did have to put new bearings in the miter saw last year and the planer is on it's third set of blades.

You couldn't pay me to take a DeWalt tool today.

I run Milwaukee for all my cordless tools. Milwaukee isn't what it once was either but still decent quality.

For hard use I do like my trusty Mag7 that worm drive makes a difference .... when I put the roof on the shed extension and I have to cut the metal roof with the 2x4 under it and possible nails. I'll snap a line and let the Mag7 eat whatever is in its way. But for most other things , that light little red thing is just the ticket. I was impressed and that takes some doing

I use red too, the narrow crown stapler was a huge leap. No more running up ladders, rooftops dragging a hose. No need for the compressor. I seem to get a lot of jobs with a ladder on one roof going to a second roof, a hole lot better not dragging a hose. I use the sawzall also. Once you start buying battery’s just keep the red going, my wife loves the leaf blower for the patio. The wet dry vacuum is just ok, but no cords for going into attics. Thinking a sheet metal cutter is next, we cut a lot of wire mesh for exclusion work.

The fuel Milwaukee circular saw we have is a joke. Milwaukee has nice batteries though.

I've had a few red tools over the years. I never liked them all that much and had quality issues with all of them. Probably just some bad luck. I'm partial to DeWalt. To each his own, whatever works for you.

Another plug for Red - When my 6 1/2" skill saw started acting up (it wouldn't always turn on when you pulled the trigger), I was able to just type the serial number into their website which verified that it was manufactured less than 5 years ago. They provided me with a FedEx label so I could ship them the tool at no cost. I had it back one week later with all-new electrical components.

I'd never filled out a warranty card or registered the tool when I bought it.

I like the yellow ones simply because they are lighter, if I was doing a lot of form work, pole barn work driving a lot of Grks I think red are tougher, but most work doesn’t require the extra weight. I’m not getting any younger.

I have Dewalt mostly because I have 5 batteries. The little spring that holds the bit in the impact driver has been replaced a dozen times. It seems the Milwaukee batteries are a step above Dewalt.

My Brother is a carpenter and switched from Dewalt to Milwaukee. Now he downs Dewalt but won't give me his boxed tools!

Rear handle Milwaukee. I use it nearly everyday. Heavy yes. Powerful yes. Durable yes. Accurate yes.

I would switch from yellow to red tomorrow , If I could justify the 10k expense.....yellow is way behind at this point

One thing that nearly had me in tears was that the Mag 77 is now made in China on the same assembly line as the Bosh worm drive saw sharing a lot of its parts. I always thought that the 77 was an almost Iconic US saw that was used to build most American houses and was use in a lot of carpentry world wide

I run all Milwaukee circular saw for wood- I just picked up the circular metal saw... cut through a piece of Unistrut like butter in one pass. A lot better than my multiple pass Dewalt and then you break-it off at the end when you can wait any longer. I'm going to get the M18 Miter saw next.

Rear handle Milwaukee here works great. I have 14 or 15 tools. The ones I use the most are the 1/4" impact driver, 1/2" hammer drill, stick light, and vac. However, I have used my latest purchase a lot also 18v tire inflator - seems like I have a lot of low/flat tires. Just to try it out, I went around my wife's truck and increased all the tires from 40 to 45 lbs. It took less than 5 minutes to do them all. Not having to hook alligator clips to the vehicle battery is great. Also, being able to air up a trailer tire while hooked to the vehicle is soooo convenient.

I have been using 6.5 inch saws since they came out.
