Picked up two this morning. Both like this.

Almost boringly consistent in a montgomery style trap. Also why I like a side swiveled trap. That first pull is going sideways into the lever not up and out.

Set and go trap.
Strong enough to pop out of wet sand loam soil
Tan tension is predictable
And they hold

And who says your coyote traps have to be dyed, waxed, and taken good care of?

Warrior can catch 'em in a rusty pitted tool!

To tell the truth, those have been in the ground right where they are for well over a year. I forget when I put them in the ground.

It's my regular studio job. They call when they see one, I show up and catch it lol.

I don't leave them set though. I trip them when I'm done catching.

I believe I'll pull them this go around and dip them. They were still in the grease when I put them out. I think they're ready for some paint.

Had to rebuild one this time as it had met a mower. Was able to detail strip it and hammer the frame back straight with the earth anchor still in the ground.

Nice! I've only got a few old Montgomery CSs, but the modded up Montana 3s are the most user-friendly trap I have ever used. I think Boone Lane recently replied to a post that he thought they were the most under rated coyote trap there was and I'd have to agree.
