Met Toby Edwards in Watertown, N.Y. today to
drop off my bag of skunks for their trip to North Bay, Ontario, Canada.

Toby was running 1/2 hour late & already had
half a box truck loaded full of fur bags when he arrived.

There were some 10 pickup trucks waiting to off load their bags of beaver for FHA.

Some had so many that the beds of their pick ups
were full to the top with fur bags stuffed full of beaver.

Beaver trapping is definitely alive & well in Northern New York State !!!

And every one of those trappers is going to have to.........gasp..............wait for their check!

Better to wait a little time, for a lot more money for quality fur. Sell the poor stuff in the country.

Mr Walleyed, Brent and I were at the Palatine Bridge pickup location at 4:00 pm to meet Toby and send our spring beaver, otter and mink collection to North Bay. His truck was nearly packed full, and his helper had very little room to stand in the back. We were pretty satisfied with what we got for our fall beaver and fisher collection and for the most part what we got for the otters we sent for the March sale.

Don't we know it regarding waiting for our FHA checks.

Some of us have been waiting 3 years for our FHA muskrat checks !!! LOL

Speaking of which, have any American trappers,
not counting those that are direct deposit enthusiasts,
received their FHA fur check from the March auction yet ?

Well that is sure different than Toby’s truck during the January pick up for the March auction. When I met him in Boonville near the end of his route, his truck was maybe 1/3 full. He told me looks like there isn’t many trappers left in NY. Must be he was wrong ?

No check for me yet either.

Good to hear no one else has gotten their checks either. I was thinking of calling this week. Prompt date was a while ago.

It's taking a bit longer to get the checks because of the dry weather. The French Canadians have to portage further to get those birchbark canoes back in water.

Hopefully Mark Downey hasn't pulled a Herman Jansen & absconded with all the funds
of American free trappers like the NAFA debacle & theft of the WFSC monies.

Downey may have flown the coop with profits from the March auction & all the equity
of U.S. trappers tied up in the FHA Revenue Participation Certificates (RPC's).

Even now, He may be anchored up off the coast of Costa Rica or Belize
on board a 100 million dollar yacht smoking a Cuban cigar & drinking
Pina Coladas with a harem of scantily dressed Chinese Super Models !!!

No check yet, but on the other hand, I haven't spent it yet either.

I got my FHA check today.

Probably be another week for out west then.

Don't look like it will make it before break-up. Another 3 weeks before I can get to P.O. Sure miss February Auctions.
