You don't have to leave the borders of the USA to get in legal trouble like this couple did in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Whenever we're in camp near the PA/NY state line and want to cross over to the communist-controlled state of NY we have to make sure there are no handguns or handgun ammo on our persons or in our vehicles.

Being in possession of either could result in arrest and felony charges.

Same goes for when I work in the socialist state of New Jersey. Once I cross the Delaware River going east, what is perfectly legal here in PA becomes illegal and I become a criminal in NJ.

Anytime you fly it’s a good idea to check all your baggage. My carryon gets a thorough look. Even my turkey vest which is checked baggage is thoroughly emptied and checked. All ammo, guns, and knives go in the locked gun case. Ammo is in boxes and I tape them and save empties to put back in the box for the return flight so if checked, they don’t shake as having loose ammo.
I can’t believe TSA missed it. Heck I have a locked gun case and every trip I don’t have locks when landing and a note that says they had reason to suspect a weapon. I’m like, duh, it’s a locked gun case and the declared paperwork is inside. And I have to buy new locks no matter where I land even though my locks are TSA approved and make my departing airport unlock them with their key!! Instead of unlocking them, they cut them.

Do your due diligence.
If going to the states respect that they will arrest you if you bring your weed in even though it is legal here.

My wife and I went to Jamaica one time. We flew back into NC I believe and were hustling through customs to catch a connecting flight. The line was long and I was incensed that our line was held up by a lady who had filled her big water container with something to drink. While I was standing there silently complaining about the lady, I saw my backpack go through the xray machine and get pulled off the side. Next thing I know, a couple more airport guys come over, look at the xray machine and one reaches into and digs around in my backpack and pulls out a loaded 9mm shell, and says "just one." to his partner. They said, you know you're not supposed to have this here. I said I didn't intend to. He tossed it in the trash and I was on my way. I wonder if being from a small Kansas town made any difference.
Apparently there was a little tear between the lining of the backpack and when I cleaned out my backpack/range bag to go on the trip, the shell did not fall out.
Anyway, I'm surprised I made it out of the US in the first place with it.
I will for sure dig a little deeper next time.

When you fly into Canada with AirCanada, you can’t have ammo in your gun box. It has to be in another checked bag.

With all the loose ammo that seems to end up everywhere especially in vehicles I would not do well on the east Coast.
