This was November of 2019. I remember walking up to this old fella with a great big head and little bitty ears, his tail was bobbed from fighting or what not. He didn’t act up in the trap one bit. I almost wanted to release him.
But I remembered why I was doing this.
Later on when skinning, I noticed that his submandibular lymph nodes were huge.
Wondered if he had an infection, or even got so old as to get cancer.
And I thought what a horrible winter it would have been on him.
His prime pelt hangs in my bedroom, bobbed tail and all.

How wore were his teeth he’s definitely seen better days

I can’t say I remember paying mind to his teeth I just remember those huge lymph nodes and thought boy this poor fella was sick

That's an old coon.
I've cought many old boar coon that are bobtail I believe it is from fighting over female's.
