If we don't get some noticeable rain it might become No Mow June

The 'No Mow May' fad appears to be fading, or at least changing:

Its pretty much been a no mow summer here. With lack of rain, I've only mowed 3 times.

You got that right. I've only mowed once.

Same boat here. I mowed the back yard around the watered garden last Saturday. Otherwise, I've mowed only twice. She's pretty brown here.

I just use an old sigh & remove the high spots once in a while. I let the grass go to seed. The grass seems thicker & more lush..and seems to have less crabgrass.

I have to mow once a week here this summer, TONS of rain this season. Too much really. We're already almost at the average for the year in my area. We usually get a short drought during summer.

I've needed to mow every week here, too. Not a lot of rain, but just enough to keep it growing.

Supposedly longer grass also deters japanese beetles from mating in a person's yard.

In my part of MN these liberal socialists are saying it helps bees. It’s total garbage. No mow May has evolved into No Mow Ever.

It’s just another socialist movement disguised as an environmental cause. Liberals love run-down crappy neighborhoods with no pride. That’s all this will turn into.

How long should the grass get before mowing? If you need to start a "grass fire" to find your lawn mower you maybe waited a bit too long!

The mowers stay in the barn. I hit mine with the bushog first.

Thicker taller grass helps keep ants away, although it encourages spiders/snakes/mice

With the mild & wet spring, I'll have a hard time making it the entire month without mowing, but I'll try. I don't like mowing.

During the early to mid 1970's.
my father rented me out to all the
elderly neighbors like a rented mule
to cut their lawns........FOR FREE !!! mad

Once I left home in 1977, I vowed never to
cut lawns ever again & so far.......NO MOW !!! laugh

Ok, I keep my man card for this post, but I haven’t mowed the yard in years.

Before the boys got of age I used to mow with a push mower. We bought a riding mower a year before the boys were “old enough” and when they came of age they took over lawn duties.

So once the boys left the mower had seen its better days so we hired a yard crew. Mow, weed eat, blow, and even pine straw in the flower beds.

Well, my wife makes a comment to her brother one day that she sometimes misses mowing the yard…yeah I thought of having her checked out after that comment. Two weeks later a semi with a forklift pulls down the road and stops in front of the house. A guy gets out and unloads a brand new lawn mower and asks where do we want it parked? We both laughed and said you must be at the wrong house. He turned to my wife and said is your name Angie? She said, yes. He said well this is from your brother.

So since that time my wife has mowed the yard, lol. What’s so bad is when she goes out of town she takes the keys so I won’t get on it! She says it’s her “therapy” and she’ll need it when she gets back!
I figured what the heck, have at it!!

I now help with the pines straw and dig the holes for flowers and trees, but that’s it.
