Anyone have any experience with one? If you had a coat/jacket/sport jacket it's something you could fire without pulling it out of the pocket.

Obviously you're gonna be shot restricted. If you wanted more capacity a hammerless revolver could do the same thing.

I am not aware of any current offering derringers that are double action ,

most derringers cut space with no trigger guard to do that they are single action and you have to pull back the hammer to fire.

a shrouded hammer revolver for the weight , it would add a little size but most derringers are not that light coming in at a pound.
the 642 air weight comes in an ounce lighter in a shrouded hammer 38spl add 5 rounds of 38spl and you will have the same weight at two rounds in a derringer

or a small auto like an LCP or LCP max , they will fire that first round in a pocket , they might need to be racked to run round 2

the LCP max 380 is 10+1 and 11 ounces

High Standard used to make one, they were made in 22LR and 22 mag. I had the mag, pretty potent weapon. Two shots, double action. They aren't made anymore, but you can easilypick them up used.

The high standard is hammerless and no triggerguard but the trigger pull makes up for that

You may want to take a look at the Taurus 856. It comes in a variety of configurations. One of my carry guns is the .38 Special Hammerless. Very small, very light and shoots well.
