I tried them for coyote drags. Not good.

There's 2 sizes, one is bigger and much heavier than the other, . Here, they get piled up after track work and get picked up with a big magnet boom truck. I assume they get sold for scrap.

Even better is an old track that’s been torn up, there are often remnants where they were stacked for salvage and they left more then a few, over the years I have managed to collect several hundred that way, just have to dig through the bush that covers it after a few years

I have bought them from the scrap yard and I keep the receipts. I use them for platforms. You can attach your trap with a bob best type quick connect and chain. You then have a completely self contained system. The plates withstand fast currents, and when used with legs you have easily adjustable vertical edge sets. I also use them as quick tunnels by leaning against a bridge wall or any vertical edge. The coon go around them and the mink go next to the wall. Baited bottom sets are also made with plates.

I use them as quick tunnels, also as drowning weights on beaver one way sliders. I have found that a big coon can drag them quite a ways.
