I don't really think that MacArthur deserved the MOH. I'm not seeing it. I believe it was a political award and is a slap in the face to those that earned it. What say you?

When did he get it?
What is the story?
Was it for some specific thing; or lifetime achievement?
Why not?

Medal of Honor? I don't know. But he sure did deserve more than some made up acronym.

After he led the attack beating the veterans of WWI (the Bonus Army) when they went to Washington D.C. to ask for their bonus checks I lost respect for the guy.

Looks like he received it for his role in the Philippines campaign. I don’t think he would have lost any sleep over not receiving it.

I don't really think that MacArthur deserved the MOH. I'm not seeing it. I believe it was a political award and is a slap in the face to those that earned it. What say you? Dugout Doug didn't deserve the Medal of Honor for his Actions in the Philippines. He deserved a firing squad for abandoning his troops on the Bataan Peninsula & Corregidor and for his mishandling of his Air Force causing his planes to be destroyed on the ground despite advance warnings of the Jap attack thus losing air superiority and with it the quick surrender of the Philippines. w

In Short; " The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his comrades and must have involved risk of life."
He was awarded it for the Philippines. None of the above happened. A political move if you ask me. Don't forget who was in charge back then.

Frankly I have no kick in the fight he was dead the year I was born, my dad served in WW2 and also in Korea and knew and had to deal with him on a personal and professional level and actively hated him with a passion, to me thats telling because even though many maybe most veterans who served against the Japanese hated them he didn’t, he didn’t even really blame the citizens for what the military had done
But he hated Him even after he was dead and so did most the men who served with him from what I heard growing up

NO. First off there is criteria that must be met to be awarded the MOH, as I know it he met none of it. Second you must have written statements from those who witnessed the actions. What actions??? There are awards other than the MOH he most likely could have received for running the campaign.

unless you live the phone man life then it is MOH music on hold it is MOH on all the work orders about music on hold. I did get it from the context clue of Douglas MacArthur , after I though for a second why would he record a music on hold greeting and who for , the army.....
