Well I got it together without instructions I found the manual in the accessory bag later in the build. The first thing you notice is the bike is heavy then the seat it way tall nut busting tall for average hight folks. My buddy said the same thing, he needs a stool to get going so I’ll need to adapt to it I hope. If the bike was a horse it would be a draft horse sized one.

Tried to pedal start it form a stopped position wrong move you can’t move that much weight quick enough to maintain your balance dumped it twice. Used the electric power that worked fine just did not know what to expect when I hit the throttle. It rode fine under power a bit rough but I’m not looking for much just basic A to B travel down a road to get where I’m going and save my knees a bit and save them for climbing the hills.

Looking to modify the seat since it’s set as low as it goes the seat shock is not working anyway and putting a pool noodle piece of foam on the nut bar to protect the boys. 2 options I think would of been better is the smaller sized 20 inch mustang type bike would of been way better/comfortable or the open frame girls style if that is strong enough for rough trails.

If I can’t get it going comfortably I’ll need to look into getting the smaller sized bike if stopping and going is an issue. This puts a serious dent in the stop and listen tactics I bought it for and the risk of injury is concerning. Consider these things if you're thinking about getting a full sized EBike.

The step-thru frame (girls-type bike) is the way to go for us older guys.

Another tip: run about half the max tire pressure recommended.

Mine says 30psi on tires. Just about beat me to death. I run 15psi now.....much, much better.

Does the “boys bar” on the bike serve a real purpose? For guys who would buy the bike for hunting there are generally multi layers of clothing and boots of some sort involved. I’d think not having the bar would make things a whole lot easier. Am I wrong having not owned one of those e bikes?

The bar makes for a stronger frame, but the way most step-thru e-bikes are built/reinforced they are plenty strong.

The bar is for strength is my guess being the fat tire model is more for off road use. Getting on and off with the nut bar type is a pain the bike seat is very tall the seat is hip high so the lean is tough to overcome taking off with a heavy bike the power works the pedals are useless with the weight your trying to overcome.

That seat might help but my plan is to mount it flat with the post maybe a banana type seat or one like that seat minus the seat post maybe. Leveling the bike for take off would be a game changer for safety and more practical use.

I obviously haven’t seen enough of them, seems to me for the hunting type uses they all should be step thru and maybe are.
Thanks Swamp..

Not all are step-thru for hunting. Some brands don't even make a step-thru. Others do t make a step-thru in camo or black.

I had the opportunity to ride both a step-over and step-thru b4 I made a purchase. I learned quickly that my old butt needed the easier option.

I emailed the place to let them know this was not working the way it should have went and I questioned the list of free items that the ad had that did not come with it a basket and padded seat they did not send they sent a saddle bag with it that was not on the list. I explained my use for the bike and safe/ easy balance was the top priority to make it practical for my use.

When the seat is waist/hip high and the bike weighs #70 balance is a must.

All fat tire ebikes are in the 70 to 80 pound range.

My buddy is having the same issues with balance vs weight he on his tippy toes trying to get going. I’ll try some different takeoffs today something that works in the dark with a shotgun slung over my shoulder. LOL I’ll get there.

LD,
I always get one foot on an elevated pedal and push down as if to start pedaling. My other foot is on the ground for balance. Then, I engage the throttle a little as I lift my other foot off the ground and place on other pedal.

I use the throttle almost exclusively when riding on logging roads. Rarely do I pedal. The pedals just support my feet.

Measured from the ground up to the bar 31 inches to the top of the seat 36 inches, the photos is deceiving those tires are taller then they look if you’ve never messed with a fat tire model with the cross bar. I’ll see what ideas the seller has I’d go old school banana seat if needed. LOL

The seat in the photo is way up there I measured with my seat all the way down that seat must be 40 inches high in the photo who has that kind of inseam? shocked confused

That would require a pretty cute inseam measurement as is LD. NBA target market maybe? Did it come with bling?

Been running an Ebike for nearly a year now. As mentioned, they are all gonna be 70 pound range, but this bike pedals quite easy and I dont find myself needing to use throttle to get started. As Swampy mentioned, I lower the tire pressure for off road and its like another level of suspension (and traction). If Im gonna be running pavement for any amount of time, I air them back up and it pedals/motors much easier. At 32Mph, its a touch faster than I need. Battery seems to last a long time between charges. Only drawback ive seen so far is the price for the quality bikes. Buy once, cry once.

It came as pictured above post they added a saddle bag not my first choice a basket is more practical the bag is narrow that limits the use. If I had to do it again I’d go with this size bike most likely.

I just need something to get into the woods with no plans for a long haul or cruising for fun my needs are simple just going from A to B is all.

A better option maybe.

LD,
Just looked at the website for SmallTown Bikes.

Looks like you have a 15 day trial for returns.

$2,000 for that one my use was more important than the price plus the company is US based and built with “global parts” so China most likely. At least the company has a face and people to deal with Vet owned also.

That’s an option I’ll mess with it some more and go from there I kept the box and packing.
