Sure it's overboard at present.
But then again do any of us go out of our way to tell a dude he looks nice?

Infidelity is VERY common with women working on crew with men. Eventually, a guy is gonna say the right thing. This I know, this I've seen, this I've experienced.

Totally agree 49er. Just stating what I've seen.

Wow u guess you dont like my options and life experience of working around women and the way I feel and have seen the mind sets and how loose the younger ones are( I did leave out the 3 different ones that have very clearly let it be known they were available to me when at work over the years and how they react when I declined respectfully and I am happy married pointing to my tattoo wedding ring). They well knew I was married yet they made the attempts and some how felt rejected and got mad when I told them thanks but no thanks. It's more self preservation and respect for my wife I don't allow myself to be alone with a woman thats not my wife.
First off my wife wouldn't be sleeping with anyone but myself or me her. It's a risk vs benefits and self protection after seeing the behavior and problems that can come up real and made up.( Even guys that are jealous chasing after the new young girl that not giving them the time of day but following you around like a lost puppy when your trying to avoid her. Yes that is right the jealous guys can cause issues as well and it all makes for an uncomfortable working environment.) 2nd I said if we ever get to the point of taking intern's, now logically thinking about that statements wording it implies we are not to that point and other things have to be in place first like me giving up or retirement from my well above 6 figure job and it's benefits and be at home. Not to that point and likely not to be for 12 years.
Maybe that will clear things up for you a lot more maybe not?
I maybe way off but I read your response about like how many people get hung up on wife's submit to your husband's and some how miss the part of husbands love your wife as yourself. Ie if the husband is doing his job it's easy for a wife to be submissive. Also many assume or make that out to mean a man lords over his wife instead of that it's a partnership but when there is a hard choies with different opinions there can only be one commander in chief and that's who makes the final call.
Edit to add I also worked on jobs in construction where it was well known some ladies took money for oral flavors, and others that were not taking funds but stumbled over in the act. Now aside from moral issues of those involved it's also possible to have legal issues for the employers in some instances.
Yeah you're way off. I was saying you won't hire female interns because you're afraid one of them might accuse you of something, and your wife has so little faith in you that she'd believe them.... but you'd be just fine hiring male interns on your farm and leaving them there with your wife while you're off at work for weeks at a time. Your above post clarified things, in that it's now clear you'd not trust your wife around male interns anymore than you think she'd trust you around female interns. So, now it just sounds like your marriage has some serious trust issues. I used to be that way too but I've outgrown it. And as for your last paragraph, are the woman who are accepting money for sexual favors the ones to blame, or the men who are paying for them? Maybe you meant to say women shouldn't work in the construction trade because the men in the trade exploit them for sexual favors? It IS a two-way street you know.

Women don't need to be working construction IMHO.
Not that every one of them are bad help, I have had a couple work for me through the years that were actually good help. We have a few that are very good welders.
But for the most part they are a distraction and leave the companies and men on the crew open for legal issues.
It's been a couple of years since I've done a power house outage, but I can't remember seeing but one boilermaker gal with a good enough body to use for a promotion. Lol Other trades get better looking woman! We get the over weight ones.

I can't say that the Millwrights attract the best looking women, but most around here won't run a booger up a thorn bush either.

Lotta women don't need to be in the trades. They'll scream equally but when you treat them like a man that you know what kicks in. Princess behavior and all that. That being said theirs a lot of them that do as well if not better then men. I know there's a few female tankerman and deckhands out here who tote 75lb lines and hook up better then 80% of the men folk. On another note, the amount of men who can't keep there mouths shut or control themselves around a woman is beyond me. If you think she looks good or whatever fine keep it to yourself. No clue how so many guys can't hear how creepy they sound when they just randomly drop compliments. You not Casanova bro chill out . Saw it all the time at the factory and welding class. Know at the factory I worked at a section for a while where the tables next to me where nothing but women. We'd chat a bit but kept to my work . But like clock work , other guys would just HAVE to make there way over and start trying to chat them up , call them pretty and stuff and you could see in the women faces and hear in how they would barley respond how they just weren't interested. But these guys just HAD to run over. At that point it's just people need to learn to control themselves

When I was still working as an insurance agent, I wrote a small group policy for a new company that was in the home restoration business. The company restored fire-damaged property mostly. It was operated by a husband and wife but the ownership was in the wife's name, thus qualified as a minority owner. This was in NC around 1987. She got favorable startup loans and the business seemed to be flush with cash when it first began operation. She enrolled in a fairly expensive group policy with health, life, dental, and disability. The business operated for about two years and then the cheap money ran out.
I should have known it was a scam. She bought a homeowner policy from me and soon wanted to file a claim for some stolen firearms. The thief was her son, who was on drugs. She never filed the claim after I told her we would need a police report.
I do not know if she or her husband had a general contractor license, but I doubt it. The only other employee was a female bookkeeper/office manager.
I mention this because there may be financial incentives for women in construction.

I think what some of ya'll are missing is it doesn't even have to be inappropriate in today's environment. Heck, it doesn't even have to happen in today's world. All it takes is an accusation. Nailed it with this statement

Yeah that's why you STAY AWAY. Keep your mouth shut comments to yourself and focus on work. The ones who will cause problems know who to go after , just be the opposite

Back in the 70’s, there was a big push for women to be hired to work underground in the coal mines. Spearheading this move was the UMWA, the Department of Labor, and some help from the Socialist Workers Party of America.
I found nearly all the women hired to be bad employees. They missed an awful amount of work, with no repercussions. If they were assigned to run a piece of equipment, the trailing cable to it would get smashed almost daily. It got so bad that the section mechanic would run the shuttle car for her, rather than to have to keep making splices in the cable. They were bulletproof as far as being fired. In one mine, the shift foreman sent a woman with me every shift….we were to shovel the belt lines. Usually within a half hour of the start of the shift, her shovel ended up on the conveyor, and that was the end of the shoveling.
