Man I’ve been busy doing everything but bear hunting lately! Why do I have to be so responsible?? I brought in 2 more barrels of corn and 25 gallons of grease to the one bait on Saturday. That bait has taken off and I’m getting pics of boars chasing sows around quite a bit. The second bait I have setup I’m done baiting it now and won’t hunt it again this year. I’ll probably move that bait next year. Huge bear coming in, but only after midnight and not much bear activity during daylight hours. 2 years, same story, done with it! tlguy, I cheated and hired a guy to weld them for me. He thought my barrel was dumb and couldn’t understand why I don’t just chain one barrel to a tree like everyone else.
The pics of 3 monkeys and their mom are a perfect example of why I like my barrel’s setup like this. I get really cool pictures!
A barrel of corn weighs about 330lbs.
That bear probably weighs 450-500lbs. Don’t quote me on that though. I don’t weigh bears.

A 500lb spring bear is a friggin monster! Lol.
I was just talking to buddy while showing him those pics. We were both wondering if you welded them or secured them together differently…very nice set up.
