I have a friend who's been bipolar his entire life, he's been on every medicine for that and was pretty stable till his daughter died in a medical malpractice event.... He really spiraled out of control, several suicide attempts, multiple psychiatric hospitalizations, and lots of counseling. He's stable again but has a appointment with a psychologist and a counselor every week, and once a month with a psychiatrist, along with several medications. Funny thing it was all internal, to see and talk to him you'd never know anything was wrong.

He readily admits his condition and is religious with his ongoing treatment, He says if your feeling mood swings or having dangerous thoughts get whatever help you need. Trying to go it alone never works.

It all depends on how they respond to me when I bring it to their attention that they are not their normal jovial self.
Some folks respond positively to that approach. Some don't. If they don't, I wish them well and move on with my life.
Of coarse that all flies right out the window when your married to her. Then you go fishing or hunting or trapping or shoot some pool, or when she rides your case, you tell her that she's right and ask her if she wants you to go back to your womanizing and drunkard ways. That will never work out well either, but I need something to laugh about to keep me sane.

life is to short to deal with stuff you find disagreeable and if you swing my mood you will have to deal with me.....

Up until my wife was 45 to 50 they made pills for it, sometimes getting her to take them was a new mood episode. Nature seems to help, after we got older neither of us can hear or remember enough to have much of moody quarrel.

Follow them around and aggravate them a little more
