After looking at lodging prices and I’m not thrilled about sleeping on sticks and rocks for a month I’m looking into making a trailer sleeping bunk for my 12 foot trailer to sleep in. I’ll have a lot of scrap OSB sheets from summer projects that I need to start on after I get my last turkey next week if the weather clears. I’ll go out early to put up stands. The plan is to make it here and assemble it out there on the trailer just a warm/dry place to sleep I’ll tarp the works then park it by the road to discourage others some from crowding me.

Might look into a ground blind for those days the winds can’t be trusted I remember a trail on the edge of a clearing a guy could tuck a blind into the thicker edge. I wonder if a guy could plant a food plots in some remote corners just some no plow/lime and fertilizer a month or 2 before the opening of the season. Lots of clover out in the Hills already in places. That would depend on the moisture thats out there it can get dry. I’ve got points at Cabela’s so No Plow is not a big deal

One of the camps I hunted elk out of the couple next to us had cots in the horse trailer. You couldn't have picked a better year as far as having the time to archery hunt elk. I am looking forward to following this.

Just tried my compound it was a no go I barely pulled it back and the left shoulder locked up (nerve) I’m guessing. It was set low poundage for shooting carp before I hurt it this last time, I’ll keep working on it but I’ll get a crossbow exemption in case I need it by then not sure how long I can hold that up unsupported but sitting supporting the weight with my leg should work and a quick clear shot unsupported would work if the shot was clear. I don’t plan on rushing a shot this IS my bucket list chance I’m not screwing it up.
