Looking to do an out of state trapping trip this year. With Minnesota being the way it is about NR trapping I have narrowed it down to western Kansas or Western Texas. My target would be coyote, bobcat, grey fox and maybe some raccoon and skunk. It would be just me and my dog for about 2-3 weeks probably end of December or mid January. Still in the very early stages of planning have lot's of time but would appreciate any information or possible connections.

Texas is virtually all private, so you'll need permission. Not sure on western Kansas

I always find it ironic that Minnesota trappers want to come here because we have no reciprocity required. That being said I’m sure that a friendly resident will help you out.

I prefer private property when available.

We are working on changing that. Pawnee has PM'ed me, thanks.

Kansas is a nice friendly state. When I was stationed at Leavenworth the farmers around there always said yes to whatever sport you wanted to participate in and would even tell us where the good spots were.

With the price of rooms, I’m guessing guys just camp somewhere for a few weeks when they trap in a different state?

I used to use my fish house as base camp but now am looking at something different.
